The lucky few were born to parents who were non-believers. Most atheists and
agnostics were raised with religion and later rejected the idea after being unable to
find any logical answers to their questions. According to Dictionary.Com “Atheist,
agnostic, infidel, skeptic refer to persons not inclined toward religious belief or a
particular form of religious belief. An atheist is one who denies the existence of a
deity or of divine beings. An agnostic is one who believes it impossible to know
anything about God or about the creation of the universe and refrains from
commitment to any religious doctrine. Infidel means an unbeliever, especially a
nonbeliever in Islam or Christianity. A skeptic doubts and is critical of all accepted
doctrines and creeds.” Into which ever group you fall, this forum attempts to be a
place to connect with you.

Until the Internet became a place for people to freely express their ideas most non-
believers found themselves alone in their society. In many cases, it was a bone of
contention and an ongoing family dispute. In other cases, being a non-believer meant
being completely ostracized from the society in which one was raised. In some
cultures, voicing disbelief means nothing less than death. These cultures keep their
“believers” through intimidation and constant fear. Of course, there are those who
actually believe but with the threat of death who knows how many truly do.

Many of you have had to hide your true thoughts and go with the belief of the crowd or
suffer as a reviled outcast. Through the freedom the internet affords you have learned
that you are not alone in your beliefs even if the only way you feel free to communicate
those beliefs is to virtual strangers online. At least that is some relief since being
caught with a book on free through could cause conflict. For those of you living in
communities that will not tolerate a non-believer my hope is that this site (along with
other similar sites) will provide a place for communication of ideas, life stories and
relief from your doubts, questions and sense of aloneness. I will be writing my own
editorials and including some of others. I will give updates on the struggles of the
victims of the Catholic Church which for years has hidden the abuse of children
entrusted with their care and education.

All my views expressed in this website are meant to connect, enlightened and be so
some value to others. My articles are written from my life experiences. They do not
reflect, in any way, the views of any companies advertising on this website. Hopefully,
what you read here will serve to help you in discussions with others. Sometimes it
can be helpful to have someone else’s thoughts to clarify your own. Feel free to write
with any thoughts that agree or disagree. I welcome your insights. I may publish your
